By all means go ahead and start running it. The OML has been run very inactively,
kind of by itself.
One frustrating thing with the OML has been that, when ever one replies
to a message it only goes
to the original sender . If the message out from OML had a "reply
to:orgonomy@webcom.com"
included in its header all replies would automatically go back to all on
the mail list and not just to the
writer of the original message. If one wants to send to the original writer
then they could go the extra
effort to put the address of that person on address. I tried a mail list
called wisdom@webcom.com
for a while that had it set up the way I recommend. If you feel like being
active in responding to
some of the mail on the list go ahead. I'm sure it will be more lively
with the suggestion I make for
the reply to. I can also try to from time to time gather past messages
into a web page as I have done
since once it goes by email on a list it is gone and hard for newcomers
to see what has been going
on at the mail list. If you are up this way next summer send me an email.
We could get together
sometime as I have summers off from teaching in high school.........Glad
to hear from you and many
thanks for offering to carry on the service. Be sure to email out the subscribe
method. And if
possible to have a signature in all mail though the list. It would be good
to have message on how to
unsubscribe so as to have an immediate way to have those who don't want
the service after
subscribing to get off the list. This would also help keep the subscribe
list to a minimum of those
who really want it after trying it...........Hope the ideas are helpful......jogg
