AH alas someone has put it into well said words. Sagan as a vestige of
mechanistic science that is really nothing more these days than an
interesting serial on parade for those individuals that know no better than
to take his sort of armchair wisdom as a gospel of science. The individuals
that read it seriously are nothing more than the slaves of envy or the
prisoners of addiction created by this consumer society.
Ken Thomas a bravo to you for your insight. I as a science teacher of
course have seen Sagan's articles in parade over the years mostly due to
others or students showing me a copy. He writes from an armchair and seems
to have no basis in self done research. I have always questioned the
authority of dogmented science and been aware how easy it is to make those
who spew its theories become so defensive or have their hackles show
through at the basic questions to science. They shut down when asked
something they don't know or change the subject like a politician. As Reich
had said "there are no authorities whatever" april 1956.
