This phenomenon was described by Wilhelm Reich in the book "Cancer
Biopathy", in the chapter on "The Objective Demonstration of Orgone
Radiation". Reich was apparently the first to have studied the phenomenon,
attempting to magnify them. At our lab, some years ago, we attempted to
use an image-intensifier to magnify their intensity. This effort produced
mixed results: the phenomenon of "random photons" could easily be seen on
the intensifier screen, but they only superficially resemble the orgone
units of Reich. Reich's methods for visualizing the units or dots were
quite simple, using hollow tubes one looked through, sometimes in
conjunction with a magnifying glass (the "orgonoscope")... anyhow, its all
in the book, available from libraries, or in a xerox version from the
Wilhelm Reich Museum (address and catalog ordering info given on the Public
Orgonomic Research Exchange web site).
