I received a call from WRM today asking what was up with someone wanting to
scan and publish WR stuff on the web. Even asked if someone thought they
may get around copyright by being in another country. Rightfully they are
protecting their copyrights. I asked about Contact with Space and they
claim they still maintain its copyright. They are publishing it this year
in german through Farrar Strauss. They maintain copyrights on anything they
sell in print. So please all out their honor the copyrights, ask them for
permission if it is necessary to use, and remember that the monies from the
royalties of copyright go to the museum to support its operation and their
ability to publish more. It was Reich's desire in his last will and
testament to maintain the place as a museum and to protect the works and
publish them. Some translations may of changed some meanings of original
which is not protecting but in the case of the Wolfe translation the new
translation was done to avoid excessive royalty payments to heirs of the
Wolfe. I only know very little of the changes but certainly one can point
out those that have grossly changed (if they have) the meanings so that
others will realize this when reading them. Some may not agree with the way
the WRITF is operated but I am sure they are trying to do it the best that
they are able to. I am sure they will welcome comments and suggestions if
you write to them. They may not follow all you want but does anyone follow
and do all you want in the world. It is best to try to work in a positive
direction with them than in a negative one. I know personally that the
WRITF has come a long way forward in changing the operations of the museum
for the positive since the mid seventies when it was hardly open at all and
in a fair disarray. It works with the schools and has opened nature walks
and added conferences and continually maintains and repairs the place. That
costs money and to publish with out permission is basically stealing from
the museum. I know I sound supportive of them and I am, but I am also
supportive for others efforts to further the knowledge and research in
Orgonomy. Lets all keep up the great work. This OML is a testament of a
beginning of new dialog long overdue and it will grow more in time.
