Autoclaving, surely. I thought than one of the points about Reich's
work in this area is that he couldn't use stains, and had to develop
techniques to allow viewing at high powers without stains. This is
one of the criticisms of his work (I write having never seen any
films of bions): that at such high powers resolution becomes so poor
that it is very difficult to actually see anything, and also very
easy to 'see' things!
