Thanks for the book suggestions. I'll try to find a copy of * Jung
and Reich: the Body as Shadow*. And I know I've read one Constable book
but the title also escapes me. In it he refers to space "critters" and
puts forward a biological/protoplasmic theory of UFOs. If you can recall
the title of that missing volume, Nick, I'd really appreciate it
especially if he treats the experiential and existential side of orgone
therapy.
I hope my original post wasn't taken as an attack on the evidently much
put-upon researchers who *are* occupied with the physics and atmospherics
of orgone. Obviously, this work is necessary. My concern was that a
thinker as wide-ranging as Reich would inevitably have some facets of his
work emphasized at the expense of the others and my view --purely
impressionistic -- was that subtler, phenomenological approaches to
orgone-therapy were being neglected.
I'm glad you mentioned Mott. Since stumbling on his *Universal Design
of the Oedipus Complex* a couple of years ago, I've tried to find out more
about him. Can you tell me anything about him or Frank Lake or anyone
today carrying out work of this calibre in perinatal psychology? It seems
that Mott was one of those theorists who wanted to do for depth-analysis
what Mendeleyev and his periodic table had done for chemistry by devising
a similarily comprehensive typology. If the Mott material is too much of a
digression for this discussion-group, would you (or any lurking Motteans)
please e-mail me directly at the above address. I'd also like to see your
M.A. thesis but won't have room for it at this address; I'll check
another account to see if I have enough space there.
Thanks,
Andrew.
