Thank you for posting this, Dr. DeMeo.  This article does exactly what 
you intended- it addresses the specific charges made by Carlinsky in a 
rational, objective manner.  To my eyes, you have addressed the specific 
charges raised by Calinksy and answered in a compelling and 
understandable way.  This was all that I (and others, I think, who were 
calling for an end to the name-calling nonsense) asked for.  I don't 
think that we should be criticized for that request.  It was a 
perfectly reasonable one.  
  
The event-based reporting on Carlinsky's behavior is germane to this 
discussion, as it places it in a larger context.  It also avoided the 
name-calling and abusive language that has been proliferating here.  The 
fact that this article comes from a history of harassment and 
threatening letters is certainly relevant.

So, thank you for taking the time to post such a thorough response.  I, 
for one, have had my questions answered.
