Bell Curve.....
I saw a book which claimed to be able to measure the intelligence of
your dog. Some dogs are dumb and some are smart. The criteria was
simple. A dog breed which could obey its master was the "smartest."
A dog which would obey, no matter how ridiculous and how damaging to
the dog itself, a dog which had no SELF other than its master was
judged the smartest. This dog "learned" what it was supposed to
learn the fastest and was thus the smartest.
The Bell Curve seems to imply that unless the dumb people of the
world learn the rules and do and act as they are supposed to in our
society and culture they are irretrievably stupid. Unless I can
learn and obey and respond to what is perceived as the ecomomic rules
of capitalism (do and feel what I am supposed to do and feel) I am
stupid.
