C.T.,
Thank you for the explanation of Reich's discovery of the pipes effect near
the lake. It brought back what I had read many years ago and had forgotten.
It is a great example of Reich's incredibly perceptiveness.
I do not recall the Dorbuster as an instrument in its own right but it may
of been or mybe just another name ascribed to the cloudbuster. I have seen
one of the medical dorbusters at the WR Museum since one is on display and
you see it during a tour through the museum. It is a small version of a
cloudbuster that can be used in an office room for work with patients. It
has a box filled with water. Bx cables run from the pipes into the box and
another set of bx cables run from the box to be connected to whatever is
chosen such as maybe a tub or sink with running water. The cloud buster
works the same way in a larger scale and the cables from a water box can be
placed in a river, lake, well or what ever source of water supply is
chosen. Southworth Machine Company in Portland, Maine made many of these
for Reich. I now understand that they have gone out of business in the past
10 years. A friend worked there and had said he had seen the plans for the
cb when he had worked there.
A radioactive source was never placed in the box as far as I know but on
occasion the sample of orur (the radioactive material that was reacted to
the orgone accumulator) was placed next to or on the cloudbuster during the
operation of it. It was able to make the cb wk at approximately 10 times
its normal range. The orur was highly dangerous to work with. I think that
severe reactions took place when the orur was enclosed in in metal such as
lead and if a person were too close to the substance. The geiger counter
from the below experiment from the late 40s may of also been the one that
could measure the orur radiation effects.
Before the Orur reaction took place in 1951 Reich had discovered a motor
force in orgone in 1947-1948 with a geiger counter. When the geiger
counter was first exposed to orgone the counts decrease over a few days
until it went dead. After a week or so it began to register enormously high
rate especially near the orur. If the orur were placed in a metal
enclosures then counts measured on the geiger counter would go extremely
high such as 20,000 d under special arrangements counts of 100,00 could be
obtained. It was the tube that was giving thelarge counts reacting with
orgone and the neg ground of the geiger counter. The high voltage of the
geiger counter was not necessary for the reaction Reich was observing. It
was this connection that brought forward ideas of a motor force in orgone
energy to WR. An article in "Orgone Energy Bulletin no.1 1949" contains an
article called "A Motor Force In Orgone Energy..Preliminary Communication"
page 7. This is part of the rare journals that are available from the WRM
on microfilm or xerox. It is quite an interesting article giving plenty of
info on how to get a motor force and describing a demonstration of this
phenomena in 1947-1948 by Illse Ollendorf., Myron Sharaf., William
Washington, Thomas Ross, and Theodore Wolfe. Not all the information on how
to build one was given but it should be a good start. It is interesting to
note that on Aug 11, 1947 an affidavit was executed concerning the
discovery of a motor force in cosmic orgone energy and it was sent to over
10 people including The US Atomic Energy Commission and Dr. Reich's lawyer
Peter Mills in Farmington. Peter Mills would later become the U.S. Attorney
to prosecute Wilhelm Reich on contempt charge for breaking the injunction
the US obtained from the courts in 1954.
I am presently working on retyping the original complaint for injunction
written by Peter MIlls from the court records. I have been adding to it a
bit at a time as I am not a speedy typist. It can be found within a WR
legal document page at pore for viewing or of course for printing. There
are approximately over 2000 pages(copies of originals) of material at the
court in portland. maine for researching and I have been told by the clerk
that the originals are kept at the National Archive in Waltham, Ma. USA

I agree and it goes further that all this radiation makes the use of orgone
equipment (ORAC's, cloudbuster, orgone blankets and orgone research) risky
to say the least due to the negative effects of the reactions of
electromagnetic forces with orgone. Imagine taking an accumulator into a
florescent lighted lab that also may have minute radioactive sources and
whatever other electrical equipment and expect to repeat results that were
obtained under the conditions of the student lab Orgonon in Rangeley which
had hardly any electrical apparatus in the late 40's.

I think forgetting it is like saying lets just let the ep trap get deeper.
I do not want to imagine what it would be like to let the EP hits bottom
like an alcoholic. Has it occurred to any one that maybe man must reach
bottom before working to climb out of the ep trap. Have we as a
civilization reached the bottom yet. I have no answer to this. Just
thinking aloud..

I agree fully with your above statement; bravo for expressing it. I feel
the same. Conversation in life and a mailing list come in pulses just like
orgone. Some times like the weather it changes from dor to orgone and bits
of the ep show. Its life and we are all part of it, the ep. Some to higher
or lower levels than ourselves. Because we have some EP from our
environmental emotional upbringing doesn't mean that we can not converse
and share ideas. I for one do not want to be part of an elite mailing list
for only those that are allowed to be members. Of course I say this because
I run PORE who's purpose is to be open to all to share information through
its web pages. I always felt there was a void that needed filling. The void
was a place for all who were interested to have a place they could share
their own knowledge without being required to have a phd. or an md. to be
allowed to express there ideas, concerns, and research in orgonomy. In the
70's when I first learned of orgonomy it seemed that only highly educated
persons with degrees were allowed to share there knowledge in orgonomy in
journals and such. Those journals have there place and they have published
great articles but where could all have a place to share with each other
equally. I, like C.T., have enjoyed the discussions on oml regardless of
whatever personal stuff that happens. I look forward to more sharing,
learning, discussing, and debating of orgonomy topics here at OML. As
someone recently said on OML at least here you do not get accused of being
an idiot for accepting that orgone energy does exist.
best to you and all........jogg
